A great variety of waveforms you can utilize. Keep in mind you are not purchasing "presets". I'm not that skilled at sound design in Absynth yet ... so this requires a bit of instrument tweaking to use these. So if you are not a seasoned Absynth sound designer, you might try taking an existing instrument you like and substuting in some of these waveforms in various places like in a patch or especially in a LFO to change the sound over time (as opposed to just using the waveforms as sounds). Here is where I see real value in having a large variety of waveforms to work with.
Also, be sure to read the docs that come with this. Absynth is not very friendly with regards to loading these waveforms from any location. They have to be in a certain folder to get them. Again .... read the docs that come with this to avoid frustration.
Now I really wish Absynth would allow navigating to specific folders to to get the .gly file so I could leave them in their folders that Galbanum provides for organizational purposes. This can be frustrating, but it's not Galbanum's issue to solve ... it is up to NI to solve this.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with this purchase and it gave me a reason to explore Absynth a bit more in depth. There is certainly a lot of value here for the price if you are the type of person that takes the time to dig into sound design even a little rather than just simply using existing presets.
If Native Instruments were to improve Absynths ability to browse waveforms in other folders, I'd give the 'Architecture NI Absynth Waveforms' product a perfect score. Now that I've got all these waveforms to work with, I'll submit a feature enhancement request to NI to see if they can do this.
At this price, with all these waveforms to work with, this product is a 'must have' for any serious Absynth user.
